I am Emily Horridge, 2021 Masters Downhill World Champion, and professional mountain bike guide based in the French Alps. As one of the first women to obtain the British Cycling Level 3 MTB Leader award, as well as a holder of the French BPJEPS MTB guide-instructor qualification, I’ve worked for the some of the best-known guiding companies in Europe. With over 10 years in my field, I’ve gained a reputation as an enthusiastic, experienced and knowledgeable guide & skills coach.
Originally from the South-West of England, I grew up riding bikes in the rolling hills of the Quantocks and South Wales, and started competing in the British National Downhill series where I frequently finished on the podium. It was only natural to progress in to the World Cup Downhill series, where I gained regular top 20 results.
Deciding to making bike-riding a full-time job, I got to know the vast trail networks across the Alps, working for some of the best-known guiding companies around Morzine and Les Arcs, as well as several years spent on the wonderful networks in Sospel, and guiding TransProvence.
Whether I’m helping you to improve your riding with a skills course, or ensuring you have the best week’s biking holiday ever, it’s my passion to enable you to have the best time on your bike.
To share my love for biking and help people with their FAQs on bike skills, I launched a Skills channel on YouTube. See below for more!
